- Wed Jul 28, 2010 10:52 pm #206608 so i just got a quote for my a/c to be worked on and they told me $900 i'm assuming this cost is mostly cuz it's illegal to leak out freon into the air. but i was wondering if it's possible to just have a shop drain the system i put in all the new parts and then they re-fill it. has this been done yet?? kinda need a write up if it has haha..

you can even get them to drain it and then you can fix it yourself provided it's tagged empty. then bring it back they will leak test it again and fill it!!! and tag it filled
