#198716 In 1 all encompassing post my 3 year journey.

When I turned 16 I headed into Chicago and bought a 1994 EX 5 speed. It was listed at 4,500$ and I got it for $1,800 out the door.

Couldn't get it finished before i left for college (August 2009) so now summer of 2010 the car is presently at Maaco getting the sanding finished and painted Milano Red. hopefully have it back by monday/tuesday june 7th.

thats all.

future plans.

front lip and side molding + paint.

debating whether i should put the turbo back on. it had over heating issues so i would have to get a new radiator. i would also redo the IC piping and get a smaller turbo. and actually tune it this time. shooting for 225whp.

Now I am a sophomore at the University of Illinois in Agricultural Engineering with no money

#198720 That's a hell of a path through progression you've taken. And starting at age 16 at that. I was completely oblivious to the majority of the workings of cars at the age you undertook your project, and for that I commend you.

Not to mention, it's a good looking car. Just needs a drop...

#198731 thanks! and i've heard that before. believe me if i could get GC/yellows i would.

i was more focused on acceleration than stance OR appearance

#198765 Honestly, thte car would accellerate a little faster with a stiffer suspension. Know how your car tends to nose up when you accellerate? That's the engine "taking up the slop" as it was described to me. A stiffer suspension means less "slop" to take up. Now I don't know how much of an accelleration boost you'd get, but I'm reasonably certain you'd gain a tenth or so in the 60' on a 1/4 mi.

#198911 Damn that's a lot of work you've done yourself! did you learn it all yourself? Really amazed. the pic of the turbo installed looks amazing. I agree with everyone though, with a drop that'd look the part, and with the turbo back on it'd go the part too!

Wanna swap cars? :P
By VerLee24
#198912 yea learned it all through trial, error, and reading.

your car wouldn't happen to have a k24 would it? :hehe:
