Would you use this Turbo? crack in housing

here's a few pics of a t3 Turbo in mint cond. except for this crack in the exhaust housing.

it goes all the way through, as you can barely see sunlight through the crack. I've read that this happens after a while and as long as the cracks are not near the internal wastegate they are okay to use and you wont lose pressure. But I'm wondering if there's a chance this thing can split from the inside out like a bagel and contact the turbine?

I've read & been told "Yeah use it" and "I wouldn't use it"
I'm looking for a sure answer :?

Teal an easy way to solve this would be to take a drill and find the end of the crack. Take the drill and go straight thought the end of the hole. Both ends is what I would be speaking of. Weld the ends of the holes and it will stop the cracking. If you can get to the rest of the crack (looked like you could) "V" the crack with a carbide bit and weld it the best you can. Then take the same carbide and smooth out the weld to not create any issues.

You will be pleasantly surprised with the results. Make sure to crank the amperage being that its cast and if your going to use a tig, be sure to use Bronze/Silica rod.

If you need anything let me know. I've ran into this a couple of times. Not in the same position as you, but it is fixable.

you can get a new housing for pretty cheap

You would have to weld it otherwise you will not ever get full performance from your turbo.. a leak before the turbine will result in a wasting effect, and make a tune nearly impossible.

IF you ran it that way the crack could clog with carbon stoping the leak and sending you into an overboost.

if it cant be welded do NOT use it.

if the crack is pre-waste it won't over boost, the pressure that was escaping through the crack would instead just pass through the waste outlet coming later ..

but that doesn't change that; if i couldn't weld, it would not be on my car.
