hello guys

rite straight to the point i am cunrently mini me swapping my civic sedan but my plans were to boost it after is this guna be safe or not ? just wanted a few ideas on it realy i have been looking at rod kits and that but is it worth strengthning the the 1.5 bottom end or jsut get a 1.6 vtec bottom end first then boost ? cheers guys

first off depends on what head your using either way a head swap dose increase compression on most motors which is nto what you want with a turbo setup the Z6 would be safe to a point however since the Y8 actually increases compression id stay away from that or if you are using that id stay N/a. D series rods on the other hand are weak and 1.5 rods are rather expensive and there really arent that many options for that. So in that case id go with a 1.6 block as there is no replacement for displacement. plus there are many more options to go with a 1.6l with rods and such. but for a turbo setup to work properly and to increase your reliability i would get a good tune....(its been said over and over but really the tuine on a turbo is everything to make it last)

p.s. 12pounds of boost is the most id go on a stock block but with a 1.5l id go less if you do a minime just to be safe.

thanks for that im thinking of mini swap then build a 1.6 bottom end up ready the transfer head over then boost it do it in stages run it in with out boost then boost it if you catch my drift i then bin the 1.5 bottom end

its the d16z6 im going for that the head of got already
