im wanting to boost my B16a but also dont want to destroy it, i already know the essentials to do the build but still, you all might have more experience in what works and dont, so can ne1 give me a list of parts nessesary to make bout 300+ my goal really is 300hp but if i can go higher by adding the little extra no problem. but at the end of the day i still want a reliable motor. so help please

the kit on my b16 consists of

blox turbo manifold
turbonetics evolution wastegate
greddy rs bov
treadstone pipe kit
t3/t4 .60
no name intercooler (paln on up grading to the treadstone)

and i also purchased lsd, traction bars, a turbo timer, a walbro pump, precision 440cc injectors, a boost guage, an oil pressure guage, blox intake manifold, aem fuel rail, arp head studs, sandwich plate

i went with all brand name parts, alltho im pretty sure my turbo came from ebay, i plan on rebuilding it and haveing it balanced soon

when i origonally purchased all of this, i had it on a turbo ls minus the aem rail... and the kit has worked great on both engines, i wanted more top end so i went to a b16 because i got it for super cheap... honestly its been said on here time and time agin, but reasearch is a good friend when it comes to a build like this... i planned my out for over a year, buying parts and putthing them back to do it right on time, the first time...

honestly the exact parts you choose is up to you if your looking for a good priced kit and not to piece one together like did look here, i got my pipe kit there and there stuff is nice

thanks for the info...but what prep work did you do on the block itself? cuz an engine like this is pretty expensive in my country..and i dont want to blow it,

if you dont want to risk blowing it, dont boost it. unless you know of a good tuner you shouldnt even think about boosting a car, tune is key.

when i got mine it was a short block, i pulled the oil pan off of it to inspect how clean it was inside... and i had a head setting around i did some mild port work on, and that i had laped the valves on, so i bought arp head studs and a new head gasket, and bolted it all together, new head gasket, oil pan, and valve cover gasket and new intake manifold gasket... my long block is basicly bone stock other than the mild portwork... and the head studs, i have a few bolt ons but nothing major... hope this helps

The ARP head studs are a must
Look into forged rods & pistons if you want an extra piece of mind.
As mentioned above, a good professional tune is essential or else you're risking it all. Don't cheap out on the ecu chipping, software, or tuning.

your power goals are ok for stock internals, but like teal said, rods a pistons would give you a good piece of mind.... you can make 300whp and push your stock internals to the max or make 300 or 350 whp on rods and pistons and have a more reliable bottom end... your call, but i personally am not afraid of a stock b16 bottom end, i have had great luck with them... but like everything else they do have there limits...

go to a scrap yard and get a turbo off of a semi truck and fabricate it to ur civic. my buddy somehow did it to his 300zx aturbo the size of a basketball. his 300zx is a mess tho

but those turbos are way too big for our little engines, diesel turbos are low speed low pressure/volume... (somthing like that)... there no where near efficent enough for a honda 4 cyl... and it would have lag for days... compared to a nice t3/t4 .50 or .60

yeah see i really wouldn't know that it wouldn't function but im pretty sure if it did it would be too strong for the engine. i appreciate the explanation

A guy that works at the local napa was making right around 300 with his a2. He had stock block and all that. He told me and my brother that the stock a2 can handle about 6-8 psi all day long safely.

its not the boost you run that breaks things, not directly at least, the CFM is what makes your power, you want more cfm than you do boost, but the two are kind of directly related... but its in the tune, and the parts are good to around 300whp.... what ever boost level that may be...

X2 6-8 PSI on a 14b is way different that 6-8 PSI on say a T4, same pressure but the T4 at that level will make more power ... and spool slower. CFM is what makes power, PSI is more of a measure of how hard the turbo is working.
