How much boost do you run on a stock D15?

Just curious as to what you run, or what you think is safe..

I seem to keep getting the same response when I say I'm running 10psi on an all stock D15B7. I've been running it for a year no problem, no gasket changes, and absolutely no mods/upgrades to anything except the injectors/rail, and exhaust.., obviously because I had to.

What say you?

What kind of tuning do you have? Not even head studs? I think you are lucky :thumb:

What turbo?

with stock headstuds, i wouldnt consider anything over 6-7psi to be safe, given im no expert but from things ive read and seen you are lucky to have been pushing 10psi for a year.

all things stock wear after time, they just wear faster when boosted. that being said, i would say it would depend on how the car was driven, if its worked out well thus far on your setup i see no reason to change it, if you have the time and money sure why not upgrade to arp studs and rod bolts. but if your on a budget keep on rocking it. every part has a tolerance threshold, and parts either fall on the low side or the high side, not all OEM parts are made identical, some are weaker than others due to these +or-'s in the manufacturing process, there for i wouldn't worry so much about it and just keep doing what your doing, because so far you know it works.

10 psi from a 14b or IHI turbo is probably ok on a healthy b7 bottom end as long as you have a good tune.
i don't recommend going much higher, though.

how much power/torque are you making?

D15B7 au-natural with a T3/T4 ebay setup. Never planned to boost it, but when I found a kit for $575 shipped, I dropped the cash and did the install myself (minus tune and gauges). The kit was actually pretty good, not just some crap thrown together.., was impressed.

The chipped and tuned by dyno inc. (now out of business) in va. beach.

As for upgrading, I am.., but not the bolts per say. I'm deploying and will be dropping a fully worked ITR under the hood when I get back. I love the D, and I may keep it to learn engine building on while I'm in Italy, but it's time to move along.

Thanks for the input!

My dyno sheet says 170. I need to replace that god awful obx rail, new filter, etc and I'm sure the numbers would improve a little. I know it does a solid 170+ because I took down a solstice (factory says 173) from a roll. I went looking for a GSR but it had to be the one night that none came out :x A guy in my club was pulling out in his solstice and invited me for a stroll. When we let loose, he shot ahead like a rocket.. As we all know, D-series torque leaves a LOT to be desired. But, I slowly reeled him in for the kill. He wasn't too happy about a d-series honda civic beating him
