It is perfectly quiet until I accelerate and then that "noise" that I explained starts happening. It's loud in 1st, 2nd, 3rd as I accelerate through each gear, and quiets down as the Rpm's fall when I am in 4th and 5th...

- Sat Feb 16, 2013 4:09 pm #326578 From what you describe, I think it is the input shaft bearing on the tranny. I've driven a civic with a bad one and it is exactly as you describe - gets louder with rpm while driving. No reason it would make the noise at idle because transmission would not be engaged.
