i took the panels with the rear armrests out of my coupe today to do some much needed cleaning, upon doing so, i thought what an excellent idea it would be to sink a cupholder into the front of each armrest. the only thing that stopped me from drilling and cutting is me thinking... will there be enough clearance between the body and the panel for it to fit? if anyone has done this with any success or failure, or have any ideas or tips, please let me know. thanks everybody

thanks, i actually put a spray paint can behind the armrest to see if it would still clip in, it did, but i wasnt sure if it hadnt just fandangled its way in or what, and couldnt think of a better way to mock up the holder. i think tomarow i might tape a spray paint cap or something to that size in there and see if it clips in fine. im really just looking to fit something a little bigger than a soda can in there, i dont want to do it, and have the same inconvenience of only being able to hold a soda like the front ones.

for sure... im doin it, and i'll definetly take pix and post a step by step DIY from takin the back seats out to finish. thing is now, i dont want to fab a cheap cupholder from walmart. i was thinkin more along the lines of like a small recessed light housing or someting along those lines. ideally, i want it to be lightweight brushed aluminum, i think that would be slick.

well guys let me know if u think of something that would make a sweet cupholder. other than that, its to farm n fleet or menards. take it easy.

im excited now, just found a website that does custom cupholders for airplanes that are perfect. drops in with a lip on it, fully customizable dimensions of the depth, diameter, lip size. custom finishes, or raw form for paint or dipping, can even get like cork on the bottom and all those works with it. best part is they r like $25 a peice. $50 for my back passengers actually to drink comfortably kinda sounds crazy now that i actually type this out. .. .. ...... hmmmmmm. fuck, custom tho, cant really go wrong, and u know me n u would realize that the second we sat back there

a 24 oz would kick, but theres no way theres clearance nless its in the middle. i wish
