#59747 Well it just so happens the only hydraulic b-series trans I can get that I know would work is going to cost me 800$'s and take 3 days to be shipped from another area....

So here is my question
Has anyone ever tried to do a cable clutch conversion?
Like take out the hydro stuff and just put in a cable and a cable transmition. Since of coarse my friends have a crap load of those for cheap. and some are B16's but yea I am just wondering if this would have any long term effects as in problems as well as what would i need to do in order to do something like this.

#59754 My mate and I had to put a cable clutch set up in when we did his H22 conversion.

Not that hard to do just gotta cut out round the gear shifter area enough space to fit the new shifter in and make sure you dont crush the cable other than that think most other things should be easy enough to figure out.

Only long term problem I can see is that cables stretch over time and could make it feel a bit shitty or even crunch into gear but easily fixable with new cables.

Make sure you get loads of pics when you do this as will make a great how too.

#68028 you can leave it hydro and have it built with diff. gearings.

My buddy has a b16 tranny with a LS 4th and GSR 5th and final drive..

Thats if your wanting to keep the low gearing but high final drive
