#279867 alrite so im still not sure if its my tranny, but i will be pulling it today or in the next few days. So i have 2 options here if it is my tranny. option 1- buy a eg ex tranny from a local importer that has 40,000 miles on it for $350, which mind you this is the place where i got my last tranny. Option 2-i found a ek cx tranny from a guy off craigslist and he says that it has 130,000 miles on it for $150. So the gear ratios are different, but not by much. Here is the gear ratios for both tranny's & tell me what yall think and what is a better buy:

so here are the gear ratios for the cx and ex:

cx:
1st-3.250
2nd-1.762
3rd-1.172
4th-0.909
5th-0.702
reverse-3.153
final drive-4.058(coupe/sedan), 3.722(hatch)

Ex:
1st-3.250
2nd-1.909
3rd-1.250
4th-0.909
5th-0.702
reverse-3.153
final drive-4.250

#279869 Get the one from the importer.. Lower miles, probably comes w/ warranty, and will keep any "pep" your car has. The CX will get you better mileage but considerably less acceleration

#279873 Yea I just figured that only 2nd and 3rd gear were the only different gears between the 2. Also I was thinkn the ek tranny because I heard somewhere that they are better plus I was just tryna save some dollars lol. I got my last tranny from the importer and now my tranny is acting up. I don't even know if it's my tranny yet. I'm thinkn it's the clutch or pressure plate because of how my tranny is acting now. I guess I'll find out once I pull it. Thanks for the input

#279891 checking the clutch and pressure plate first. Im trying to save cuz I need to get new outer tie rods and obviously an alignment is gonna come with that. Then another front bumper then a paint job.
