USDM Si tranny on JDM b16a1?

USDM Si tranny on JDM b16a1?

- Sat Jun 13, 2009 7:57 pm #122813 K well I was reading up on an issue in Import Tuner which had a super clean EG hatch in it, I was reading what he did to his car and noticed he had the tranny from a 2000 Si swapped in for the tranny that came with his JDM b16a1.

I guess the point of this post is, why? Is there any huge gear difference between the two? I am having some tranny issues (5th and reverse are going out) so I need star working on those issues but I wanted to look into possibly changing the ratio's around for track/daily use, any suggestions?

Transmissions are not my strong point...

- Sat Jun 13, 2009 8:26 pm #122815 According to http://www.zealautowerks.com/transcalc.php the JDM B16 tranny is basically the same as a USDM GSR Transmission, Meaning the 99-00 Si and Del Sol VTEC Transmissions have shorter gears, Meaning better accerlation.
