yes 7k red line because its a 2.4liter engine now. Its new engine is pretty much the successor to the k24a2 out of the TSX. More Stroke = Less Revs
The Atom is cool, however its not practical. The new civic isn't a track day car but thats not surprising. Even the S2000 isn't a track day car out of the box. Why? becouse its hard to sell a pure track day car. Middle aged men going through a mid life crisis dont want a pure track car. Its hard to sell a soccer mom a track day car.
Its not surprising that Honda De-tunes their cars for the street mainly as that way its daily drivable for the group of people who want to buy it. Honda can't please everybody so they please the people who buy their cars. Thats why we dont get the Type-R's anymore as they dont sell well enough.
If honda stuffed a j35 into the Civic Si, people would complain about its torque steer and it plowing in turns, it would also gain comments like "its heavy and slow, and has a boat anchor for an engine"
