Few questions that have been bothering me.

First off this morning i had to go get alignment. It was like 45 degrees out. And my hatch was in the garage, started no problem. When it first starts the idle revs kinda high and then drops like 200rpm and back up, then back down for like 5 mins, then runs fine.
Question 2... I went to the gas station this morning before i went to get alignment, filled up, went to go start, wont start, Cranked like it wanted to start a couple times. Finally started, revved up a bit, rpms droped and car stalled. Happened twice. Popped the hood, pushed in the plug wires from distributor, one clicked in just a bit started and ran fine. Would that be the problem, or something else?
Question 3 (last one, i know i wrote a book already)... Got a sticky pedal. The throttle body sticks (gotta slap the gas pedal before i go) any ideas on a fix?
:x

1. not sure exactly. Probably the same thing that caused your second problem. Sounds like vacuum leak too though. or the iacv on your intake manifold, clean it with some carb cleaner or something.
2. just give it a few days and see what happens. Your car would still run even with one wire pulled off though. So im guessing that wasnt it, you must have bumped something else while you were going that.
3. Some carb cleaner and an old toothbrush should take care of the stick.

1. alot of people i know with eg's there car idles high then drops then goes back up, mine idles high then bounces up n down then goes to normal

2.sounds like a possiable main relay prob or a ignition prob

3.clean it and if that dont work your throttle plate(butterfly plate)
might be getting stuck from wear and tear over the 15+ years. i had to replace mine last year i was drivin and i went to shift and when i let off the gas to shift it started to revv high so i put it in nutral and pushed on the gass a few times and then popped the clutch and kept drivin, it happen twice

forgot to mention. Has a B18 swap. Bought it off a mexican kid in chicago. He did a very nice job on the swap. But lots of wires have electrical tape on them, i dont know if that would cause a problem?
This car just scares the shit out of me. Its my first stick car, havent driven stick much, has a b18c swap, and with the sticky pedal its not fun to drive. Also no PS. =/

i  my PS

but that might be your prob, or it could just be some rewiring he had to do for the swap which could be your problem

not so much true, when you turn the key over(not starting the car) doe the CEL come on then go off??

if not, your light is burnt or missing.. i know people that take the CEL light bulb outta the cluster so they dont have to see that annoying lil engine light..lol

kinda thought about that after i said true. But the cluster is all messed up. Rpms are off, mph is off, fuel guage dont work, and temp dont work. Doubt there is even a CEL on that cluster. But if so, it doesnt turn on

its only a few screws that hold that bezel on and only a few for the cluster, take it and take a look, or get another one from CL or a local junk yard

orrr if you got a friend with a eg, use his to see if your throwing any cels :thumb:

Sure if it has a sticky pedal remove your throttle body. Its 4 12mm nuts/bolts depending on how much its been fuc*ed with. The clean out the tb i would say it covered in scum and preventing the throttle cable from doing its job.Thats one thing less to worry about once cleaned. :thumb:

Your spark plug wires pop out of your dizzy cap, you push them back in, and then the car works. :?

Need I say that you have a problem with your dizzy cap or spark plug wires? These are replaceable parts.

You're getting advice from someone that accepts that their car has a bouncing idle problem. This is a common problem and an easy fix. There are countless threads on this.
