Charcoal canister??

Since i swaped my z6 mani for the y8 mani it doesnt have outlets for the charcoal canister. I am wondering what my options are with it.

if im not mistaken there should be but there just isnt a port to hold it like on the z6???? someone correct me if im wronge :thumb:

look an ebay...you can get one for under 50 bucks if you dont mind it not being name brand!!!!

All you need is a vacuum line and an evap purge valve coming off the intake manifold. If you don't have an open port, you could try T'ing into a vacuum line off of the intake manifold.

If it is the canister or the evap purge valve you're looking for, you should be able to get them cheap at a junk yard.

I am pretty sure that the charcoal canisters have a limited lifespan. Something like 10 years? (I bet Suspendedhatch knows this) I never heard of one malfunctioning or going bad though.

The evap purge valve is gong to be a little more work to find, but I did a quick search:

Junkyard would be your best bet for that sensor.

You T off the fpr vacuum port.

what would be the problem of you did not connect that? From my understanding it traps fuel vapors, so if you do not connect, you'll be loosing fuel economy?

i took mine out in my last honda and i saw no difrence inn performance or fuel econmy

You'll get that rotten egg smell of gas vapors seeping into the cabin.

It causes brain damage which lead to JDM mods and ricification.
