replace it if they are already shot.. if you put polyurethane like the ES they say they squeak. hard race makes a replacement bushing stronger then OEM but soft like OEM

The ES replacements are so stiff that I have read complaints that they limit travel of the trailing arm. I have them on my car and it's hard to tell because I replaced every bushing at once with ES master kit.

If you change only the rear trailing arm bushing, there is no noticeable increase in harshness.
The doomsayers are not to be trusted on this one. You're fine putting urethane there. Your car will not blow up or slide off the road.
Prothane makes a better replacement bushing than ES. ES requires you to reuse some of your stock pieces, which is pretty nasty since you have to burn them out.
At $250, I'd avoid those Hardrace bushings like the plague. I'm just not that baller. Prothane's cost a little more than ES but totally reasonable and they've held up for over 6 years of daily driving for me. No squeaking. On the other hand you could get some OEM replacements on ebay. You can get the Prothane's from suspension.com
You can also get the tool to install them on ebay.

So you have to save the part that bolts to the rear of the car from the original bushing and slide that into the ES part??
