im come to realize that my engine (d15b8) is quite the odd ball
no one makes parts
no one mods it
no one boosts it

i had problems with hooking my catback to it

i want to swap it this coming weekend and im gonna hit up a bunch of junkyards

ive read that all i need is the engine tranny axles etc..
im kinda hesitant to swap though cuz ive had so many problems with this car so far...

will i run into more problems just because its a cx body/frame?
are all the sub models ( dx, lx, cx) the same? engine bay, frame wise?

what about motor mounts? will everything be as easy as it seems?
this is my only car... so i wanna bang it out as quick as i can so i can drive it to work on monday and not worry about it...

any advise would be great!!!

Mechanically, any D series can be straight swapped for any D series. No need for a new tranny or axles.

If you are going to a VTEC engine you'll need an ECU and you'll have to do some wiring.

You'll need an ECU for whatever engine. If you get a engine with VTEC, you'll have to wire in VTEC. If you get a B series, you'll need B series mounts, which you can get out of an integra. You'll need axles if it's a B. You will also need a B shift linkage if you get one. I think that just about covers it.

It's an odd-ball because it's an 8 valve engine with 60 hp.

WHY DO YOU NEED NEW AXELS. DOES A INTEGRA HAVE A B SERIES?

you need axles cause D series civic axles do not fit the B series tranny

I have the same engine in my car, and I plan on using it until it blows just because it gets me 40-45 MPG, and I drive A LOT for work, sometimes 1-1.5 thousand miles to get to my location.

I am pretty annoyed that I can't find parts for it though. I'd love to do a few smaller mods to it so I can climb hills without having to drop it to 4th gear on the interstate :eh:
