PLEASE HELP: ROD BEARING

i bought a coupe and the dude says it needs a rod bearing, can anyone tell me whether i should go through oil pan or pull the whole motor out. and if so can anyone give any tips, or advice on this fix. appreciate your time.

if your only doing bearings just go threw the pan. pull pan off and the pick up pump and the oil splash guard. not a real reson to pull out the motor. but if it was ran for long time with bad bearings you might wanna check the crank also to make sure there is no deep scratches. if there is then you should have the crank polished.imo. or you could do a ls swap and call it a day.lol and one more thing. make sure you get the tourqe specs and tourqe bolt pattern. dont wanna overtighten or not tight enough. i replaced mine but had the motor out and to a bare block. new rings and seals. took 20 min to get the crank in and bout an hour to drop in pistons and tighten to crank. should take no more than 2-3 hours to complete. and use some assy. lube on the bearings befor you install. that way there slick for that first start. good luck man. mabey do a DIY on your repair!
