then check to see if there is play in the rods where they connect to the crankshaft

can you spin over the motor. A spun bearing will not stop the car from starting. I know, My LS still starts and I have 1 or more spun bearings.

a spun bearing will not keep your motor from turning over.
take the spark plugs out, put it in neutral, and turn the crank counter clockwise with a 17mm socket.
the rod may make a knock as it turns from play on the crank.

hydrolock is from sucking water through your intake, like if you have a cold air intake and drive through 2' of water

so i took not a 17 but a 19mm and turn the crank, and all the pistons move up and down just fine. could i still have a spun bearing? it quit on me while driving and wouldnt start. like a the flywheel broke or something. any more suggestions. i dont want to put it all back to gether and it wont start. that would make me quite.

did you check to see if you had fuel, spark and compression before you took it apart?

no , i dont have stuff to do that

a little late now, but to check fuel, put your ear by the rear seat & listen for the pump whine. Pull an injector or 2 and see if they were spraying while you were cranking the engine.

To check spark, pull a plug out and touch the end near a valve cover bolt. Then try to start the car. You should see an arc if you're getting spark.

Compression, you'll need a tester to get accurate #'s. but you can take the plugs out except for one cyl at a time and crank the motor by hand. if it is hard to crank, then you have compression in that cyl. :thumb:
