moved to ENGINE - GENERAL since this has to do with your engine, not your car's chassis

Mobil 1 synthetic 5w20. It's one of the best oils. Not THE best, but they start to get very expensive after you get better than that.

Best spark plugs are basic NGK's. Denso's are equally as good but I don't go to the dealership for parts that often. Actually I have to run motorcycle plugs with my CBR coil packs, but one day I'll switch to the AEM coil packs so I can use regular-ass plugs again.

Spark plug wires (back when I still ran distributed ignition) I used Magnecor. The best available and they never wear out. Slightly more expensive than NGK but you'll never have to replace them again. Don't buy into those gimmicky wires ie Nology or MSD.

I try to base all my decisions on actual researched comparisons rather than forum opinions. For instance they do an oil comparison where they break down all the oils and rate their additives and detergents as well as their physical properties. Mobil 1 is always near the top. Penzoil, Castrol, Quaker State... these oils are a joke. As are Lucas additives and the like.

I never had any issues with it. I change my oil every 3500 miles. My gf uses the same oil. Yes its expensive, but Im willing to pay for it. You get what you pay for :? .. I know thats not true with everything, but Im willing to spend the money for my civic.. ha
