Head gasket options

I'm about to change the head gasket on my jdm d15b vtec engine and i wanted to know if any d-series vtec head gasket will work(ie. d16z6, d16y8)

they should all be the same i believe... dunno for sure tho...

they are different thicknesses, y8 is thinner than z6 = higher compression ratio

been good, busy. buying house, getting married, business has been steady... EG is still in pieces though. Transmission build is killing my wallet but it will last a while and take a lot of abuse when it is all done

And AFAIK the Z6 gasket is paper, and the Y8 steel... better for boost ;)

incorrect. Z6 is also multilayer steel.
I believe all D series headgaskets are multilayer steel.
Cometic has custom headgaskets made to order if you need something specific differences.

Hmm, maybe US spec is different then, I'm pretty sure that the pre '96 D-series all have paper gaskets over here.

I just bought a z6 from ther dealership and it is MLS.
Some aftermarket here like Mr Gasket for the z6 are paper cpmposite

This info is outdated. Honda consolidated the Z6 and Y8 head gaskets into one. If you order a Z6 headgasket, they give you a Y8 head gasket.
