Head gasket options
Posted: Fri May 23, 2008 5:15 pmI'm about to change the head gasket on my jdm d15b vtec engine and i wanted to know if any d-series vtec head gasket will work(ie. d16z6, d16y8)

Posted: Fri May 23, 2008 9:56 pmbeen good, busy. buying house, getting married, business has been steady... EG is still in pieces though. Transmission build is killing my wallet but it will last a while and take a lot of abuse when it is all done

incorrect. Z6 is also multilayer steel.
I believe all D series headgaskets are multilayer steel.
Cometic has custom headgaskets made to order if you need something specific differences.

Some aftermarket here like Mr Gasket for the z6 are paper cpmposite

Posted: Sat May 24, 2008 9:55 pmThis info is outdated. Honda consolidated the Z6 and Y8 head gaskets into one. If you order a Z6 headgasket, they give you a Y8 head gasket.
