#361391 I was trying to remove the nut to get the pulley off of my power steering pump and in typical fashion I'm in a hurry to do everything and didn't realize the nut is reverse threaded and I ended up tightening it until it stripped out and now the nut is just spinning. I've tried applying pressure to assist it off but it doesn't help. Any idea how to get the nut off now? :? I'm guessing I can just cut through it and replace it now that it's ruined but I've never dealt with this before. Thanks guys

#361398 I dont think it is going to be that simple unless the threads stripped out of the nut and the shaft threads are still intact.

but use a grinder and grind off the end of the shaft that is sticking out past the nut. then get the nut off and check the threads. you are probably going to have to get a new pump even if you could get the nut and pulley off im pretty sure there would be no way to hold the shaft to thread it again
