Something iv been wanting to discuss for a while

When I was doing my swap at first, We bought a B16a....
But it was the wrong generation and the Alternator had no room to spin
I was wondering if anyone could explain to me how the whole generation thing works,
I'm aware that nowdays you can make anything fit into anything but im talkin about in general swap that will basically bolt right in..
example the b16 that i have in mine is the 2nd get integra
the xSI's...

you mean the pulley was hitting the frame of the car?

nah like as we were dropping it in. there was no clearance for the alternator at all. and that was the problem cuz we had the wrong gen b16a.....
just didn't have enough room..

That does not make sense. People have swapped 1st gen B16's into 5th gens. All the alternators sre almost if not the exact same size so...........

trust me man.. we had the right mounts, and everything.. the alternator was not modified in anyway..
the swap just wouldnt fit..

lol why wouldn't you put the alternator on after you had the motor installed?
So you gave up on installing the engine because you were too lazy to take the alternator off?

No, we got it in there..
there was not enough room for the alternator to spin. it's really complicated to explain i don't have a picture all i have is a mental imagine..
But bottom line is, what everyone told me atleast is "you bought the wrong gen motor.."
im sure someone here knows what im talkin about

Make pics. Cuz i cannot understand why the alternator doesn't fit or have no room to spin
B16a's are plug 'n play in 5th gen civics. B16A B16A1 B16A2 B16B etc etc

there had to be enough room, doesnt make sence. I got my b18 to fit perfect and the b16 is basically the same thing.

It makes sense to be in the Swap > "B series" more then "Engine General" I think...
