Civic EG

So i just encountered some engine knocking on the B, my better judgement would tell me Spun rod bearing. since it clearly makes a noise after 2500 rpms.

NOw aside from that would anything else in the engine make a similar knocking sound?

Lost motion assembly? Rockers>?

Reason i ask is cause the sounds doesnt sound on the bottom end it sound as if it's under the valve cover/ head area.

Idle is fine as well

spun bearing would be noticable at idle..

even if it's just starting.. ? Ive been through the spun bearing route before so i know the sound. horrific!!

What else could it be. Head wise? what do failing lost motions sound like?
