General engine questions/issues that aren't specific to the other categories

#268645 Hey guys,

Continuation from my thread in boost [As it's kind of moved more to general engine tech]

After boosting my car - I was burning a shed-load of oil.

Done various checks, and so far we've narrowed the problem down to either valve stem seals, piston rings or the valves themselves.

Compression check showed 70psi on cyl 3 - 1,2 and 4 were at 150psi.
engine is burning oil and smoking over 2500 RPM or when engine's warmed slightly
NO misfires and no build up of oil on the plug in cyl 3

Any help, direction or anything at all would be greatly appreciated, or if you guys know of any tests that could narrow down the problem!

#268649 Leakdown test, listen for the escaping air.

Leaking out the exhaust = Exhaust Valve
Leaking into the intake/throttle plate = Intake Valve
Air bubbles in the top of the radiator(take off the rad cap) or into the adjacent cylinder = headgasket
Oil cap, Dipstick, Bottem end = Piston Rings
