i just bought a 95 dx recently an i had a question about the ecu. the previous owner converted it from auto to stick. he took the original motor and put a d16z6 in it as well. the only thing he didn't do was change the ecu. from my experience i feel that burning alot more fuel then i should be. now i know i have to get it chipped to a p28. but my question is, am i burning even more for having a auto ecu on a stick? or are they both the same?

They are not the same. Auto/manual ecus are different. You dont need a chipped ECU. Just a P28.

exactly :thumb:

You've probably got a couple CEL's now... I wouldn't be driving the car with the wrong ecu because the fuel curves will be wrong.

converting a honda obd1 ecu from auto to manual takes about 2 minutes, 5 if its still in the car.
ok, longer that that because my iron takes forever to heat up.
before i converted my ecu to manual, the idle surged badly and i had a cel.
