What's up guys I was doing some research online and I came up on a boosted mini me build. So I was wondering how much psi I can run my b7/z6 mini me motor. I know its a high comp. At first I didn't. Believe it till I saw a video on YouTube of a mini me boosted...so I'm needing ur guys advice, cause I have a 14g Turbo laying around. Will a small Turbo be better for fast spooling for this build. If its okay to boost the mini me.

a z6 b7 mini me compression will be 9.95 to 1 if you used a b7 head gasket
if you used a z6 head gasketit would be 10.22 to 1
either is fine to boost
im not sure how big a 14g turbo is but im pretty sure its on the small side
that being said id run like 8 to 10 psi with a GOOD TUNE
it also depends on how good of condition the bottom end is in
first thing id do is a compression test and see if the b7 block can handle it
and yes you want a small turbo for better response on our little d series
if you can run 8psi on a healthy motor it should be around 160 - 170 whp just guestimating

Well right now im running a y8 HG, thats what im kinda worried about cause i have about 220,xxx on the b7 block, know for a fact the car was never run hard or abused thats what the person told me when i first bought the car. Yeah i heard a little turbo is better for fast spooling and no turbo lag...yeah i wont boost no more then 10 psi...and if i do boost it i wont run it hard either. And is there a quiet BOV? I dont want to put a BOV thats hella loud when you shift i dont want people knowing i have a turbo...but anymore insight from you other egian on this...hanks

with a y8 head gasket your getting 10.5 to 1 for compression wich honestly is a bit high to run turbo even with a good tune
you have to have a pretty good tuner to make that reliable
like i said b4 id do a compression test b4 you buy any parts for turbo
a compression test will tell you all in less then 20 mins of work :thumb:
iv never run a turbo so i dont know a quiet bov im sure you could always muffle it somehow

You say that now, but you will drive it hard and you will eventually want to push it past 10 psi. As previously mentioned, unless you've got an extremely reliable tuner and a standalone ECU system, you wont be able to run that high of compression reliably.

You could always make a flange to fit from a stock turbo recirculation valve, from a Nissan, Audi, or other factory turbo car.

8 to 10 psi is all yad wanna do on that. id also do compression test before doing it and yes a small turb owill be a much better way for spool up. it dont gotta be big to be fast just keep that in mind lol.

14g would be good - any bigger would be bad news for b7 rods.
because of the higher compression of a b7/z6 mini-me, your tuner better know what he is doing.
