#217745 so I'm getting mixed answers about installing rod bolts..

half the people say it can be done from the bottom with the motor in (apparently only the non-vtec blocks that have a different style girdle that allows access to all 4?)....

and the other half saying the rods have to be taken to a machine shop to be re-sized or honed or something when you install new ones..????

whats the deal?

#217800 why are you installing just the rod bolts? beefing up the OEM rods for boost?

On my D16z6, I was able to remove all the girdle and have access to the bolts on all 4 rods and carefully replace the rod bearings all from going through the bottom of the motor.

If you are talking about taking the OEM bolt out of the rods and putting in ARP parts, then you'll want to remove the entire rod/piston to get that done. Although I've never heard of anybody trying to do that from the bottom so I can't say for sure it's impossible.
