ok i think i messed up my HG the other day, the car runs good, but it sputs like there is water in the cylinders like a misfire almost, it started after i overheated really bad.. long story

so i googled headstuds/bolts and found this

http://www.partsgeek.com/mmparts/head_bolt/honda/civic.html
its 75.40 for all 10

now my question is
is that a good price??
or is there somewhere else that has head bolts for sale

or just take my chances and reuse my old head bolts??

Thanks

edit: oh i have a d15b7 btw

I'd do OEM, unless your motor is mostly stock and you're not boosted or anything. for a DD those will be fine.

ya im all stock but a K&N filter and a DC header, i barely even race lol its just so i can have a reliable car for now

so i should get the 69.50 ones then?

I didn't see any $69 ones in the links, but they will do as long as they are correct for your motor :thumb:

How much are ARP head studs? Aren't they like $80? Much stronger and also reusable.

You can never reuse head bolts once they've been torqued. They stretch and people that try reusing them end up blowing their headgasket again shortly thereafter.

^^ The ARP head studs are all over eBay for $100 bucks including shipping. If your sticking with motor for a future build they are WELL worth the money.

Quick Google brought up this thread...

and if its correct the headbolts are the same for the two motors so something like

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ARP-208-4301

should work. I'm double checking right now though cause im no d-series expert :)

Can't find any references atm .. also leaving work I'll try and check a bit when i get home!
