#189449 ok say you have a engine and you rebuild it for higher compression and say your compression is around 11.40:1 would you need to run higher octane gas and what are the differeance's of having this compression compared to stock compression e.i.(mpg,and other stuff)

#189530 higher octane is a good idea, stock vtec engines recomend high test from the factory anyway, at least b series cars... honestly if its tuned your mileage should not really be affected majorly... you will notice a slight power increase as well, compression makes power... but you will see more of a difference going form say 8.5:1 to 11.5:1 than if you go from 10:1 to 11.5:1... it wouldnt hurt to upgrade to bigger injectors and a bigger fuel pump depending on your engine and its displacement... hope this helps :thumb:
