whats up guys,

i just actually today put some headers and exhaust on my car. Ebay headers and 2.5 inch pipping cat-back.

My issue is after this for some reason i get a tapping noise coming from my motor and it's only heard while i'm slowing down in a gear. under load the motor runs fine then i down shift and slow the car down and by the timing belt/cams i hear a tat, tat, tat sound. It goes away once i gas it it a bit.

gonna pull he valve cover off look around, but thought i'd ask see if this rings a bell for anyone or maybe help me look at certain spots while i'm in there.

thanks.

if it just started when you put the header on, I'd bet it's a tiny exhaust leak.

Did you replace the old gaskets with new OEM ones?

Gonna do that with the quickness after further inspection i noticed the right side has a tab with a little play and i think thats the flickering noise i keep hearing.

Thanks for the tip got me looking right in the exact spot. Metal was gasket lookin half way newish but was probly just warped over time.

Good news is looking for this noise got me to do a stage 1 cleaning of my entire engine bay.

Thanks again.
