well i have a mainly stock eg8 and i want to start doing more to it. I was thinking about getting some sort of intake air intake upgrade. What do you guys think is good and what is cheap but doesnt suck

well aem, injen are some very well known brands and if you have no s,mog... then e-bay

I have to go to DEQ so you think something like an AEM short ram would be good? How much should i expect to pay and what benefits will i get. Maybe an hp or 2 and a meaner sound?

i think an aem for your car would runlike 130$. give or take and it will give you a couple of hp, better throttle responce, a lil bit more sound from the engine and will look uber clean. and its smog legal

Please do your self some favor and dont get a shortram intake, it sucks warm air from the enginebay and you lose some power!

Try to get some coldair intake from AEM 2.5'', Injen 2.5'' or a Integra TypeR airbox with a snorkel to the bumper (Comptech Ice box style)

the ONLY thing I like better about the short intakes is that they make vtec louder on sohc motors. for better performance than a short ram, get a cold air intake. You can still hear vtec engage, just not as loud as with a short one.

hmm ok. Would it be better to try and mod my stock air box to have the air intake down in the bumper instead of it going through all those elbows before it eventually goes into the bottom of the air box?


Kinda like if i crashed by car and broke the bottom of the air box off from the rest of the piping ;)

in oregon and washington we dont have to have the smog label crap like the people in cali so you could just get a ebay cai and save money there smog is different then our emmisions
