Hey guys I am having issues with my motor. I swaped in a D16z6 into my 92 and I have swaped out ecu's(p28) and o2(4 wire) sensors but still runs like crap.

I haven't had a chance to check two things, IACV and Coil.

Anybody got any ideas or suggestions or anybody live close by the Athens GA and Augusta GA area.

Basically it feels like a low end fuel problem, maybe fuel pump going out or injectors not firing.

The car just studders and acts like it is fuel cut, until you give it close to full throttle or get into the upper RPM range.

Ok I guess I didn't fix the o2 correctly but, I'm guessing that wouldn't cause my issues would it.

an o2 that isn't functioning properly will cause all kinds of problems for your engine. I'd fix that and see if the problem is still there.

Very vague but sounds like a possible cam timing problem. Did you change the timing belt? Make sure to tdc it properly. Also make sure the crank pulley is on correctly and the keyway is present.

Ya know something I am going to find out tonight about the time of this motor. Supposedly a new timing belt was put on. I have no check engine light now but it still runs like crap. My new description is that .... it acts like it is running out of gas. It studders like a diesel tractor.

I have something similar, mine sounds slightly "tractory" at tickover, plus seems down on power, especially thru midrange. Ive changed plugs, oil and filter, gonna try air sensor next then maybe injectors. Ill let you know how i get on.

You both should start with the basics before replacing unneeded parts. Like suspended said, Check your cam timing (free), check your ignition timing (free). Verify all of your connectors are connected (free). Kinda get where i'm going with this, 9 times out of 10 your going to find the issue after spending all of the time and money on pure nothingness.

Take a few minutes to throw a timing light on the engine just to verify ignition timing.
Take another few minutes and pull off your bottom timing belt cover, top timing belt cover and verify that both the crank cog and cam gear are lined up to their respective places. (obviously this is a little more involved but you get what i'm saying)
Don't waste your money.
