Its a Purge Valve, Probably to releave one of the vacuum systems on the car, Not 100% on what it does, I know they are really durable as mine was flopping around on my z6 coupe since I got the car in 05 and sold it in early 09.

It purges the fuel vapors from the charcoal canister when certain conditions are met. It's an emissions device and it accounts for about 3-4 mpg.

yea i was just asking cuz if u see in the picture it shows u that u can take it off

and just get a big hose and run it from the manifold and all the way to the canister

and u sure u can get a code
I'm looking at my repair manual and it doesn't show a code for a purge valve

do you have a check engine light on rite now?

if so there is a 2 wire plug under the glove box, it should be in this green rubber thnig, get a paper clip and jump those wires wht the key on engine off and the check eninge light will blink out the code

there is a thread in the ecu area that tells wat code is wat
