Central Lock issue

Hi civic-EG.

Haven't been around for quite sometime.

The central locking of my sedan is not working properly, everytime I press the unlock button of the remote control... the door locks would not budge. I still need to use the key in opening the door. Sometimes, it unlocks, but most of the time it doesn't. The actuators are moving, but doesn't complete the motion of unlocking the door locks.

Hope you can help me. Thanks in advance.

When did EG's come with remote power locks? Is it factory or aftermarket? If it's aftermarket, pull your door panels off and make sure the rods are still attached. Most are just friction fit rods and actuators, so they might have been jarred loose.

My sedan came with factory central locking and alarm. I have replaced the alarm, the central lock is still the factory supplied.

Does the central locking also have a relay? If it does, maybe that's where the problem is. But for now, I'll try to remove the side panels and see.

Thanks dude.
