I have both and I think chiltons is more detailed...If u can get both, its never bad to have to different manuals but then again I haven't used mine in a couple years...But then we have an AWESOME site like CIVIC-EG to help whenever we need advice or help or just say What up!!!

I have both but I use my Chiltons way more than my Haynes. I would like to get a service manual.

I have both and they are good to have, but the wiring diagrams in the haynes was better than the chilton.

I recently went looking for a manual myself. With other cars my dad and I have worked on, Haynes seem to be more detailed.
For instance, I got a Chilton for my Nissan Stanza. Most directions say, "If so equipped, remove A, B, and C, and reverse steps to complete the job". Whereas the Haynes we have for our Ford Tempo/F150 say, "Remove these specific bolts/brackets/panels/etc, and when reinstalling you may have to do these special things to get it right."
Just my experience of course. Plus, the Chilton I saw in a local car shop seemed WAY too general - 84-95 Civic/Accord/Del Sol. I know Haynes makes one just for us - 92-95 Civic. So I figure I'll pick one of those up when I get the cash.
/2cents.

I went the easy route I picked up a Chilton at Shucks and ordered a Haynes off e-bay, so I got one on me and the other on its way
