ideal is jumping

i have a d16z6 and the ideal is jump really bad.... the ideal is jumping to 2300 rpms back down just under 1000 rpms??? i dont know why its doing it... a friend told me that there is a plunger like thing in the throttle body that reads water temp and if thats broke it will do this... but he said its most comin on turboed engines.... can someone help ???? :eh: [/b]

could be a lot of things... air in cooling system or vacuum leak would be the first to check.

yeah mind does this 2 what was whati was trying to explain but mine idle high as hell at like 3500 and drops to 2000 and it does it fast do u think my idol screw is turned up 2 high or somethin?

o and i changed my IAC 2 but it still does it i checked hoses but sone are out of place my sohc zc was boosted at one point but dident do it then

nah, yours sounds like a vacuum leak as well. Check all your hoses and see if anything is unplugged or cracked.

this is aggrivating i checked my vac lines im thinking its the sensor next 2 the iac valve :x

I'd have to say check the coolant level, Honda's do the surging thing when coolant is low, like it's searching for more, lol

good advice i havnt hurd that one b4 but the thing is my thermistat is stuk open so it constently has coolent goen threw it and its always cold but ill add some and see what it does

I had an Accord that was doing that and adding fixed it, my current Civic Eg was doing it a few weeks back, same deal, low coolant, the thermostat could probably use a changing too, just for argument's sake
