Noob wanting to learn about cars, books ?

Hi guys.

I want to learn about cars, from the basics to the advanced.

I have done basic maintenance work...

Do you guys recommend any books ?

start with manual, you will find all you need in there

so, read, read, read....and then do, do, do :D

alot of cars are the same but wit diff names for diff parts
but they all do that same thing

x10,i did and still do a lot of reading when i get the chance but the one thing that taught me the most was watching!, i have a friend that owns a auto sound shop back in nyc and i used to hang out a lot there and helped him out with smaller things now i don't have to pay anybody to do my alarms,systems or anything to do with electrical stuff and same stuff for mechanical stuff,i would hang out at car shops and just watch n learn.

OP, these guys are right. Don't forget to browse the DIY section on this site. They have great pictures, if anything they help you learn the car's layout in certain areas :thumb:
