Hey guys, I'm Ethan and just got a 94 ex as my first car. 5spd, d16z6, all stock except the valve cover gasket Looking forward to this forum as it is the best I've found so far. By the way, I was reading a DIY article by chrono404 on transmission bearing replacements since my input shaft bearing is shot. . . He didn't include how to take out the transmission since there are DIY articles on that and that makes sense, but I can't find any on this site. Am I just a noob and overlooking something, or is he refering to another site? Anything's possible.

Jack the car up, Take suspension apart, pop axles out of the transmission, support engine, remove starter, and unhook reverse wires, undo linkage and bitch pin, then unbolt transmission, pull it separate from the engine, then lower it out of the car, I normally pull the transmission out of the engine, then slid it on my chest, then slide it on to some cardboard and pull it out from under the car.

Need more details? pick up a 92-95 civic helms manual and it will show you pics of what to do.

More recently i have gotten lazy and just pull engine/tranny out in one peice, work on tranny then put it back on or put in a replacement and drop it in one peace.

Its also under the MISC pulldown on the top of every civic-eg page.
