hey all, found the forums browsing google for some parts and seems like a cool community so i decided to stop in...

little about me, my name is Mike, i recently just picked up a 92 CX Hatch, its in beater mode right now while i acquire the parts for my B16 Turbo set up, also planning on painting the car Harvard Blue (love that color!) Im constantly looking for good deals on parts, and help with my adventures so i hope i can gain some new information and help others along the way!

one of the major issues with the car (well the one thats bugging me the most) is the rotted rear quarters...i was able to hop on to www.fixmyrust.com (lake eerie trading post) and they have what looks like weld in rear quarters for like $30! anyone have any experience with these? prob not the best place for this question but heres the pics so you can see what im talking about:

So what are your plans for the hatch?

well currently the plan is to drive it through most of the winter untouched. Then i have some DEFINITE plans, and some on the fence ones.

the definites:

either B16 or LS swap whatever i can get for a good price with the lowest mileage. Kinda torn because originally i was going to go with the LS and do a twin T25 turbo setup on it (junkyard turbos off a DSM) which would have been great, but ive been told with the LS motor i can get to about 300hp and if i want to go any further im looking into big cash, where as the B16 isnt as expensive..anyone have any insight on that?

anyway, if its a B16 were going to go with a single turbo, havnt decided WHAT turbo just yet but my target goal is around 300hp and if ican get there ill be happy

other than that, some suspension mods, id like to see the car lowered but not going to slam it, whatever lowering takes place will be from the performance springs..functionality over looks.

new wheels. im usually a fan of black rims with a silver lip and i really like a thicker spoke, similars to the Slipstreams or the stupidly expensive Volk model.

The Undecideds:
my buddy and I were discussing repairing the rear quarter rot and repainting the car and we were on our way after taking it out after seafoaming it and some retarded was chucking revs at me (this car looks like it could be owned by my grandma) and it hit me...how cool would it be to have it look like a giant turd with just an exhaust, and when some muscle guy messes with me to slam it and leave him wondering why he cant catch up lol

if we do paint it, ill need to get some new junkyard panels with no rot [good luck] (apaprently the site i saw for $30 has since removed them because it was an error lol) it needs a new front drivers side fender, and new rear bumper. I went to go pop the dent in the bumper cover yesterday and went to go unscrew the two phillips heads from the rear quarters and apaprently its only hanging on by the bolts under the hatch lol

if anyone has any suggestions or ideas along the way please throw them at me...ill try to have a "project log" thread set up to show my progress for those who care.
