welcome man!
another socal member

but id say go the the b20 turbo
its prob gonna cost less and you can BAR the b20
the K,J swaps into another are illegal in the Cali
but if you doo go with the v6 motor (J serise) you gotta illegally smog your car

yeah I read that in cali the j swap is illegal ( former cali resident from Oceanside) I would do the b20 swap anyway.

Isnt a B20 illegal also...

Do an LS swap it will hold up to more PSI and you'll probably make higher numbers than a B20

out here as long as the motor is the same yr or newer then the yr of the car, it can be swapped but it has to have the ecu for that motor, not a chiped ecu, and it has to have all the emssion devices off the car the motor came out of and it has to pass smog.... but the K and J's are illgeal swaps..

so if you wanna go b20 you gotta find a 93 and up b20 or you cant bar the motor then if u get pulled over its hell

I was under the impression that you couldnt swap an "suv" motor into a car..... :?

like said, i think cali considers the b20 a truck/suv motor.

yup yup..Either way.. an LS will be better to turbo. Thicker side walls to hold up to more PSI

Lol That sucks major balls.

A B20 and LSvtec are not legal then as you need to have your ECU Chipped/tuned.

Doesn't Cali ban adding Turbos to cars?

Either way if you want to Boost get a B18b and swap it in. As Chance said they have thicker sidewalls and hold up better under higher boost. Also have a Higher assortment of pistons you can put in it.

yes and no
if you go and get a greddy turbo kit(CARB legal) or something along those lines
then its legal, but if you build a home made turbo kit like
blackslio did and you dont take it and get "ref" then your gonna get a hefty fine..

as for the b20 ls/vtce, all you do swap the motor into your car go get it bar's then swap the vtec head on..then ur good to go, you only have to get the motor bar'd 1 time

and to chance ya its a suv but you can still swap it over, its a B

wouldnt a b20 give me more torque then a b18? and wouldnt a turbo be better in a suv motor?
