#109858 So I dont know if any of you have heard the news: Chula Vista as well as san diego county have launched their campaign to crackdown on street racers. "Operation Crackdown" granted $600,000 to train officers and law enforcement agents to be able to identify illegally modified street racers.

IN SHORT we just spent 600,000 to photocopy some kids riced out engine bay and give a copy to every law enforcer in san diego county.

So its like this. Me and my buddy got pulled over on our way back home for the local 7-eleven. We pulled into my driveway and the cop boxed us in. (My car fits the typical "Street Racer Car" Black honda civic lowered with an exhaust)

Dialogue:
"Is the a problem officer?"
-Yeah one of your break lights are out
"Really? Which one officer?"
(TAIL LIGHTS WERE WORKING PROPERLY)
-Ill tell you in a minute.
(Yea right)

So I already know that his guys in gonna give me a bogus ticket.
(Not like I havent gotten one before.)

The officer walks around the car checking it out like hes trying to find something illegal. So he eventually make me pops my hood and cited me for the following:

-Illegal air intake
-Intercooler system
-Ignition coil
-Hoses not properly attached
-Loud exhaust
-Broken tail lights

Now hes the bullshyt:

-My air intake is an AEM CARB LEGAL intake system that I had previously taken to a BAR referee that said it is legit
-Apparently i have a turbo system that i dont even know about in my car. The officer called my ALLUMINUM RADIATOR an intercooling system...
-He pointed to my HID ballasyt that CLEARLY says "HID" on it and called it an ignition coil.
-He pointed to my AC Compressor hoses and said that illegal to do.
(My ac compressor was taken out because it was broken)
-I HAD PAPERS SAYING MY EXHAUST IS WITHIN THE SOUND LIMIT but he said its doesnt matter cause they have "changed the rules now"
-And my brakes light were all working he just cant see the color red.

I told the officer:

"So operation crackdown... spent half a million dollars to train the county to be able to look for illegal parts in street racer cars huh?"
"It seems like they just spent half a million dollars to photocopy a picture and tell cops to give people tickets if they have anything that looks like that huh isn't?"

-I dont have to answer to that. IF I REALLY WANTED TO I CAN HAVE YOU ARRESTED RIGHT NOW FOR NOT COOPORATING!

dude... i didnt do anything wrong i popped my hood willingly for him. he just felt real dumb that i had all my ends backup. He just wanted to give me beef cause he couldnt find anything illegal.
So in short:
I got a ticket to go see the BAR referee again... and i almost got arrested... all for driving a honda -_-... but i love my honda ^_^

#109881 honestly it depends on what part of california you are in. I was in a small town in central california and I NEVER had an issue with cops and I was riding as low as I could go on my coils. My exhaust was loud but never had a problem with it.

Shoot..my friend in Manteca got pulled over because he punched it at a light just to show off and a cop going the other way flipped a bitch hella fast and pulled him over. Dude was yelling "Hands OUTTA THE WINDOW!!" so my friend does everything he was supposed to. It was funny because the cop didn't even need to pull him over, my friend just pulled over lol. Anyway, Cop calls for back up. Goes as said that we are street racing down the road. (Road is only one way one lane per side). lol. While the first cop is waiting for backup he tells me friend to get out of the car. Well my friend has a RHD ef hatch. So, he gets out from the "passenger side". "Why are you getting out from the passenger side!!! Where's the driver!!??" My friend replies "I am the driver..my car is RHD" lol I start busting up laughing in my other friends car. Cop was like "what?!" and starts looking at it. The whole time my friend has basically a porn playing on his indash lol. The cops backup comes and next thing you know we have 3 cops just chillin outside of my friends car asking him questions "How fast have you gotten this thing?" "Do you take it to the track?" lol Then they make him pop his hood and I'm thinking crap its' all down hill from there lol. I hear one of the officers go "Holy Crap We've hit the jackpot!!" lol Here's the details on my friends car.

91 Si Hatch
B20 Vtec/Turbo
Full rollcage
RHD

After they were done talking to him one of the younger officers says "Did we take the class for imports?" The other younger officer said "Nope..Ok well you have a good day sir and no speeding up and down the street" The older officer just looked at the other two like "WTF?! We aren't going to write him a ton of tickets and tow his car?!" lol

So yeah, honestly it depends on what part of california you are at. Most of the popping hoods and stuff is down in So Cal.

#109882 ^because its safer fro them to pull over some innocent person who just happen to like modifying their cars (though some have ruined it for the rest of us by actually street racing) I dont know anymore pretty soon im sure theres gonna be a crackdown nationwide and thats when i move to canada.....or something

I mean yea street racing is highly dangerous but so are gang shootings and stuff like that i mean there has to be a gang shooting almost everyday im sure....while there is maybe a street race what every month or so idk im not apart of that group or anything like that.....

And also to your ticket i cant wait to see the freaking cops face when he gets told that your fine.....i mean really the two easiest ways for someone to pull someone over is you had your high beams on and a tail light that was not working.....thankfully my cars not on the road yet so yea and the fact i live in NY but still some things are illegal here that i cant beleive like roll cages.....but yea anyhow i also dont see how the cop couldve arrested you since you where cooperateing with him i mean he supposevly cited your pull over for a broken tail light which was false to begin with and then he technically searched your car.

#109888 im with u off to Canada i go if it gets like that over in jersey, i hopefully wont have a problem when ever my car runs again and i start doin more to it cuz its mostly goin to be parked up or driven to the drag strip where i can freely race my car and dont gotta worry about gettting in trouble, shit i rather pay 15 dollars and be able to race all day then get a ticket for speeding or street racing

#109933 Wow, that's pretty freakin' overkill, they don't say anything to you here unless your exhaust is like ear-splitting loud and they're in a bad mood.

#110469 thankfully i live in NYC and the cops got better shit to do. we can pretty much do whatever the f%&k we want to our cars and not get pulled. However any time your hood is popped especially in the bronx, the cops will grill you so many cars are sripped in broad daylight that auto crimes is huge out here. but as far as modifications, they dont care.
