#44172 I have loved my D70 since I bought it, but I have recently been spoiled after shooting with a Nikon D300 w/ 18-200mm VR lens. So I'm thinking about buying one - well I'm going to buy one, it's just a matter of when.

Here's what I have right now:

- Nikon D70 kit in excellent condition, all accessories. replaced original battery with a new Nikon one, not generic brand.

- Zoom Lens: AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED used on 2 occasions, practically new.

- Wide Angle Zoom Lens: AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED also in great condition.

(both lenses include all accessories)

- Nikon remote control shutter release

Anyone know what it all might be worth :? I looked on ebay but it's hard to tell since everybody's equipment is in different condition with different accessories/lenses. I'd like to sell it to someone I know instead of a shmuck on ebay, since I have taken such good care of it and I know it will make someone happy :)
I'm going to be dropping my tax refund (and then some) on the D300, so probably in a month :woot:

#44175 Keep it for a spare... It could come in handy!... I want a D300!!!

On second thought... you could buy some sweeeet goodies with the money you get from the d70. (-:

Do we have a photography section here??

#44182 We're in it :D

People usually post photoshoots of their cars in the Your Ride section, they could put them here if they wanted. I have a ton of pics, it's just a matter of uploading them & posting them (lazy)

I'd keep the D70, but it's going to be probably 1/3 of the funds for the D300. I'd like to keep it for risky shots like automotive rigs... we'll see what uncle sam gives back to me.

#44190 Just keep the 70 and save for the three. Most people use a lesser SLR for a back up and a 70 for a back up is pretty bad ass IMO. 8)

#52076 Well, I just took the plunge... D300 w/ 18-200 VR lens is on the way :woot:

Nikon is offering a $300 rebate when you buy the two together before May 11th (i believe that's when it ends)

I did a lot of research and there are so many shady switch & bait camera companies out there... especially in the NY/Brooklyn area. price grabber and all the sites like that point you in their direction. Also companies selling grey market (warranties void) and even taking things like the battery & charger out of the kit so you have to buy them back separate!

Before I buy anything now, I look up the company on http://www.resellerratings.com/ :thumb: Had I not found that site, I would have been a victim.

I'm still undecided about keeping my D70, I'll probably carry that one with me normally, and leave the D300 at home unless I am planning on a photo shoot. Of course, after I start using my D300, I might not pick up the D70 ever again :hehe:
