do you mean the D15z1 engine (vtec-e)?
That engine is designed for one thing only = fuel economy.
It does have the longest geared manual transmission of the D series motors, so swapping it out for a short geared D16z6 manual tranny will help a lot in acceleration. :thumb:

The d15z1 was never meant to be a fast motor. Sticking to traditional 1/4 mi. tricks will help though. Lighter wheels, remove spare & jack, rear seats etc... to reduce weight.

You could do intake/header/exhaust but it's probably not worth the money when you could keep saving for nitrous or even turbo.

I checked and its a D16A6 Also known as D16Z2 its not the D15z1

so would that change anything if its a D15A6?

so besides the headers muff and filters is there other tricks like the tranny

you could share to make it faster without using turbo and nitro

there is no D15A6....

maybe that was a typo and you meant D16A6? that would mean it's been swapped to a old CRX/EF Si motor which definitely takes better to bolt ons.. :thumb:

Yes the D16a6 is a good motor. Although it is non-vtec, it has a huge selection of aftermarket parts available. :thumb:

N/A builds on these motors can get pricey, you'll make more power with a turbo or nitrous.

How fast do you want to go and how much do you want to spend?

Is this car your daily driver or track toy?

with the headers what type of headers and mesurments

and with the filters is it okay without the tubing i will directly connect the

filter to the fuel injection is that good or not?

just find a header that is made for a d16. If you put your filter behind the engine its going to get warm air from the engine instead of nice cool air. The further forward on the car the better.
