GETTING STOLEN....

Well JDMkatie helped me out with my hatch find I finally found one out in CT so I'm driving out to see it tomorrow so i will post pics of what it looks like........ anyways i have a 08 Mazda 3 so my hatch is gonna be sitting in my driveway for at least another 8 months or so i will be working on it but how can i prevent it from being stolen or anything on the car being stolen


and maintanence what should i do start it up everyday ???.....and i don't want rust either

If it's just going to be sitting in the drive way for a few months I would invest in a BOOT and a car cover! or


get a Trunk monkey!!!

lol and what about keeping the engine fresh should i start it up everyday, every weekend?

Every weekend would suffice start it up maybe cruise around your block once/twice a month so the tires aren't sitting in one spot the whole time

Well there's nothing you can really do about it getting stolen. If people want it bad enough they'll take it. Mine had a clutch lock and an alarm and they still broke into it and dragged it away. The best things to put in a car are lowjack but it's kinda expensive, around $600 or so but it's said to work. Or there's this gps kit you can get that a friend showed me that is around $350 and you can keep tabs on your car from your house if you have the internet. Plus it will send pages to your phone if someone moves the car or what not and it tracks it. So, instead of having the cops find it you can find the idiots that took the car and go happy crazy on them Also recommend you get an aftermarket steering wheel, quick release and lock for the hub. It's not 100% effective against thieves but if they do happen to try to steal it and don't have a steering wheel they are screwed. You can get a steering wheel, quick release, short hub and lock for around $450. So if you go and add that, the gps thing, a super sensitive alarm, clutch lock and pull this little clip out of the engine bay, HOPEFULLY it won't get stolen. Those are just some ways to make it harder for thieves to take.

x2 proximity sensor is nice too. Someone gets near you car and it sends you a page. My friend had that on his coupe and it was awesome! Plus it's only like $40 or something.

All these things only slow them down, or help get it back.

If you dont want it stolen or messed with. park it in your garage.

the sad truth

As an owner of 3 cars, and a sport bike I can tell you that letting them sit still for too long can be bad.

As someone else has already stated, start it up and drive it around the block at least once a week.

1) The battery will die if not charged every once in a while
2) Interior will start to fade
3) Rotors will rust (My 08 VW R32 sat for a week and you would not believe the amount of rust on them)

Etc, etc.
