It kind of looks like they painted right over some massive front fender well rust?? Or maybe it's my computer.
Also, D16 non VTEC?? You mean like a D16A6... that's an OBD0 motor. Check the stamp on the block. Hopefully they don't have smog checks where you are cuz that's technically illegal. Just make sure they converted it properly. Stay away from "chipped" ECU's.
Price is within the range of what's normal.

Probably a d15b7. no one swaps in old ass motors.... or maybe they do.
$2800 is alright, but you could talk em down to like $2500.

its a coil on plug setup. its actually a very common thing in the DSM world and a new thing with Honda's in the past 8 or so years. since the d17a1 came with a coil on plug setup.
But back on topic.
The car looks good, i too am seeing the funky shadows as SuspendedHatch. i think its worth the price.

that doesn't look like 3 month old paint...
and once my hatch is buit im taking it to wherever you guys are and selling it.. mine, in my opinion, was in better shape than that when i bought it. its a 93 si and i paid 1200 bucks for it, Canadian currency.
on another note, if thats the going price for a hatch, then certainly buy it. Try and barter a bit, but if that is fair market value then you've gotta pay what you gotta pay. good luck !

1992 Civic Hathcback. It has a 1.5 motor with headers and a manual trans. 180,000 miles but its a honda. New clutch. It has aftermarket headlights and muffler. Lowered but can be raised. Runs good. It has a little damage on driver side rocker which you can see in pics. 1,600 firm
