so i went togo check out this hatchback today 1993 civic cx the body is straight, clean title, 160k, the only problem is that it has never had a major tune lol.. the guy wants 1900 or obo, the timing belt sounds kinda loose but ima just do a full tune so that should run me 600? and the clutch felt loose so i need to replace that however how much do replacing a clutch cost? anyways with this info how much you guys think i should offer to this guy?

600 bucks sounds kinda too high for a tune up...especially on a CX motor...

and about 90% you can obviously put on your self if your mechanically inclined

if tune up on a D15B7 was 600 bucks you might as well buy a new motor. but its not and its not too hard to put most of that stuff on.

replacing the clutch is pretty straigh forward, but if you pay someone to do it, i my eyes its not worth the money for that motor. it would be atleast a few hundred bucks.

but altogether its 306 bucks for all the tune up parts and cutch

so half the cost

if you can knock off atleast 500 or 600 bucks off the price it be worth it. how did it drive?... got any pics of it?

Are you planning on driving it as is or swapping it?

A cx is lightweight but that price is heavy try and even it out like it was said above 5-600 or so 2 k is quite alot for a stock hatch that needs work

thanks for your input guys, im completely noob to eg's am i able to find instructions on how to do a tune up on this forum? thanks for the info on stuff off ebay ill be sure to look into it. as far as pictures ill post it up if i purchase it , and yeah ima talk it down to at least 1300 since it needs work. the exterior is dark grey and iuno if this is stock but its missing a passenger side mirror LOL♦

as far as what im going to do with it, i think ima just keep it a beater for the time being, and learn more about swaps before i get any ideas lol
