Broken windshield wiper......

ok my driver side windshield wiper crapped out on me. i can completely lift up my wiper and move it freely as you shouldn't be able too. So is it the motor that is broken or is there a piece that connects to the wiper to make it move that snapped. what do i do to fix? thanks

just replace the motor assembly. but it could be also that the teeth on the wiper arm and motor are stripped.

So is the motor assembly and the teeth on the wiper arm 2 different things? is there a way i can check to see which one it is if it is 2 different things?

take off the wiper arm...look where it came off of and see if there are still splines on it...if the splines are worn off then thats your problem...
