Cat Back System Questions

Hello all,

If I was to purchase a cat back system for my hatch does the cat back include a high flow cat convertor or is this something extra I would need to purchase to put between the headers and the exhaust?

Also are there any manufacturers that make a system that doesnt end with a massive cannon on it?

I'd prefer to have high flow and keep the noise as low as possible, does such a thing exist?

Cheers

in regards to the massive cannon question. spoon makes 2 different mufflers that do not have cannon tips

this is the N1, however, it is 110db which is pretty loud. you can buy a silencer for it for about $60. Spoons other muffler is the street type s, which is 90db and very low key. I know tanabe prides itself in its catback exhausts that deliver power under 93db. I believe the application for the EG hatchback is $690 and comes with a high flow cat, but the tip is rather cannon like

What about an OBX Twin Loop system such as this? Are these units generally very loud?

with that twinloop no they shouldnt be too loud..its more quieter than having a big bore muffler with a silencer..but some twinloops dont work too well with some cats..but 98% sure it will be very quiet..thats a real good mufler..silent but itdoesnt constrict the fumes

SR*S makes one that I found, It's around 250, which isn't bad, and it has a real nice deep tone to it too. I'm purchasing mine in a few weeks.

I hadn't heard of it either, but I met someone with one on their civic, and it sounds really good. They make a catback that I found a lot of people put on their integra's.

[url]Here's the only link I could find, it's an ebay auction. but if you go into their store, you can find a video of one on a STI I believe

well, if I were you, I'd go with the srs or megan racing. Megan racing is a lot better known of a brand than srs, so you might feel safer going th route, but both are very good, inexpensive brands. Apexi, yeah drool. best exhaust I've ever hard, but expensive.
