side rub strip queastion

im just wondering i am buying a eg3 at the moment and it has never been modified yet the side rub strips are flushed im just wondering did some eg,s come with them flushed as standard or has someone along the line done this

there are thin versions of the side mouldings available. could of been swapped or your car may have came with them.
