I folded my driver side mirror for a day then the next day when i unfolded it its was loose for some reason, has this happen to anyone, whats wrong with it before i take it apart?

this happend to me. i unfolded it and it wouldnt stay. like the spring(if there is one) lost all tension and it was all flippy floppy

so i took a thin strip of sheet metal and 2 self taping screws and fixed the mirror in the folded out position
